Concentrate on a geographic niche!
On Studymaniac you have the option to list your course for a specific university / school district. Use this option! Putting up the 10.000s course about Math on the internet probably won't get you anywhere. But making your course hyperfocussed on your own university or the A-levels in your area has a very high probability for a large amount of sales.
Our founder Jannis started Studymaniac by selling a Math course tailored to his university in Münster, Germany and earns more than 12.000€ a year with it still!
Prioritize!
Focus on the hardest topics and make them easy to understand! Also focus on the material that is the most beneficial for your target group. Overall on Studymaniac the ranking looks like this:

Tasks/Tests are the most desired by our current user base, closely followed by videos. Depending on your subject this order might change
Launch early!
Your course has not be completely finished right away. It is super cool to sell for a lower price initially and gather first feedback WHILE still developing your course. First just setup a few topics as good as possible and later add the rest (and increase the price). This works wonders for your motivation and drastically improves your course!
